University of Iowa Fall Graduates Embark on New Journeys and Careers

This autumn marks a significant milestone for nearly 1,700 students at the University of Iowa, as they prepare to graduate with their undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. These students have not only met academic challenges but have also embraced the Hawkeye spirit through their engagement and accomplishments.

Among these graduates is Josie Hartman, who hails from Milo, Iowa, a town smaller than the classes she attended at Macbride Auditorium. By immersing herself in student organizations, Hartman discovered her niche. With majors in environmental policy and planning, and political science, she is set to graduate in December, ready to tackle the LSAT and embark on global travels.

Isa Holtze is another graduate who found her calling at Iowa. Returning to her roots in Washington, Holtze credits her cinematic arts courses and practical experience on film productions for shaping her career path. The university played a pivotal role in helping her discover her voice in filmmaking.

For Nate Harbert, a major in sport and recreation management from Colorado, the excitement was in exploring the behind-the-scenes action of major sporting events, including the rise of Caitlin Clark and the Iowa women’s basketball team. Harbert will continue his journey in Iowa as an account executive with Learfield.

After relocating to Davenport, Iowa, Amil Brown sought a top-tier environmental sciences program and discovered the University of Iowa’s exceptional offerings. With experiences ranging from prairie restoration projects to being part of a welcoming community, Brown graduates with newfound skills, confidence, and plans for further education in graduate school.
