As the year draws to a close, the University of Iowa is preparing to celebrate the academic achievements of nearly 1,700 students in a series of commencement ceremonies. These events, scheduled from December 18 to December 21, will take place both in person and via livestream, starting with the College of Education and concluding with the College of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and University College.

Undergraduate Commencement and Teacher Education Program Recognition Ceremony
4 p.m.
Hancher Auditorium
The ceremony will feature Dean Dan Clay, who alongside UI President Barbara Wilson, will confer degrees. The keynote address will be delivered by Matt Degner, a distinguished alumnus and superintendent of the Iowa City Community School District. Faculty insights will be shared by Ashley Rila, while Lexi Moon, a graduating student in art education and art, will represent the student body.

Doctoral Degree Candidates

Messages will be delivered by UI President Barbara Wilson and Saba Ali, interim associate provost for graduate and professional education and dean.

Dean Julie Zerwic will provide remarks, with degree conferrals by UI President Barbara Wilson. Keynote speaker Dan Lose will address the audience, followed by student speakers Charlotte Wetjen and Jamie McGrath.

Dean Amy Kristof-Brown will share insights, with the commencement address by Maria Turner. Student speaker Jordyn Johnson will complete the line-up.
