Explore Diverse Meditation Styles at Drake’s Free Meditation Fair

Drake University to Host Diverse Meditation Fair

Discover a variety of meditation practices at Drake University’s Meredith Hall during a unique “Meditation Fair” organized by The Comparison Project. Scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., this free public event invites participants to explore an array of spiritual and religious meditation techniques.

The fair offers attendees the chance to engage in three distinct meditation styles through concurrent sessions held in the first half of the event. These sessions will showcase the meditative traditions of several religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Christianity, Islam, and Transcendental Meditation. Following these sessions, all instructors will participate in an open dialogue, providing insights and answering questions from participants.

Supported by Drake’s Center for the Humanities, Drake’s Slay Fund for Social Justice, and Cultivating Compassion: The Dr. Richard Deming Foundation, The Comparison Project focuses on comparative philosophy of religion. It aims to enhance understanding of local-lived religion and foster interfaith literacy and leadership.
