“The Client Portal is an integral part of our work to focus on maximizing the potential that lies within everyone, so that Maricopa County families and communities can thrive,” stated Jacqueline Edwards, Director of the Human Services Department. Since its inception in March 2021, the portal has processed over 180,000 applications from more than 73,000 users, resulting in $200 million worth of services provided to those eligible.

This innovative tool is accessible via both desktop and mobile devices, promoting equity and inclusion by ensuring that all community members have access to essential resources and tools needed for success.

Features of the Updated Client Portal

The portal now includes several new features:

  • Application access for Head Start, an early education initiative for children up to 5 years old.
  • The ability to apply for services in Spanish.
  • A more straightforward application process.

The application process is simple and consists of three steps:

  1. Visit the Client Portal at Maricopa.gov/HSDPortal.
  2. Begin the application by clicking on “application prescreen” to check eligibility for various programs.
  3. If eligible, create an account to complete the online application process.

This platform effectively removes barriers to access, connecting Maricopa County individuals and families with the necessary services for achieving their potential.
