BLM Approves Sale of 5,500 Acres in Lincoln County, Nevada

ELY, Nev. — In a significant move, the Bureau of Land Management has sanctioned the sale of 66 land parcels, encompassing about 5,500 acres of public land in Lincoln County. The exact date of sale remains to be announced, along with detailed information such as the specific location, legal description, encumbrances, and fair market value of each parcel. These lands are situated near various towns including Rachel, Hiko, Alamo, Mt. Wilson, Pioche, Panaca, Caliente, and Crestline.

This sale aligns with the Lincoln County Conservation, Recreation, and Development Act of 2004. The act was established to create wilderness areas and fund conservation efforts through public land sales. Revenue from the sale will be distributed with 85% allocated to county recreation, wilderness planning, and archaeological and natural resource protection; 5% to the State of Nevada for educational purposes; and 10% to Lincoln County.

The environmental impact of this land sale has been assessed and documented in an environmental assessment, which can be accessed on the BLM National NEPA Register. This announcement marks the start of a 30-day appeal period, concluding on November 15, 2025.
