KoMiCo to Invest $50M in Mesa Facility, Creating 200+ Semiconductor Jobs

KoMiCo Plans Major Expansion in Mesa, Arizona

A significant development is underway in Mesa, Arizona, as KoMiCo, a leader in semiconductor equipment cleaning and coating, announces its plans to build a state-of-the-art facility. This expansion represents over $50 million in capital investment and is set to create more than 200 new jobs in the region.

MESA, AZ (August 20, 2024) – KoMiCo has signed a purchase agreement for a new facility dedicated to the advanced cleaning, coating, and repair of semiconductor equipment parts. This new facility will be located in the Superstition Springs area of Mesa and is projected to open by 2026.

The new facility, spanning 125,000 square feet on a 12.5-acre site, will become KoMiCo’s largest U.S. location and the company’s eighth globally. This move is driven by significant industry expansions in the region from major players like Intel and TSMC. The facility will boast multiple cleanrooms, advanced diagnostic tools, and a variety of cutting-edge equipment.

Shawn Jang, CEO of KoMiCo U.S., expressed the company’s enthusiasm, stating, KoMiCo is proud to partner with the City of Mesa in further establishing the Silicon Desert as the most technologically advanced semiconductor manufacturing region in the United States.

Known for its innovative approach and strong R&D division, KoMiCo is poised to support both existing and future semiconductor fabs, including those utilizing EUV and sub-1nm tech nodes. The company’s global presence, with sites across South Korea, Singapore, China, Taiwan, and the U.S., positions it as a key supplier to the largest fab clusters worldwide.
