Lehigh University ranks in top 30 of WSJ’s Best Colleges 2026 list

Lehigh University Maintains Prestigious Status in National College Rankings

Lehigh University has once again affirmed its position as one of the leading higher education institutions in the United States. For the third year in a row, Lehigh has secured a place among the top 30 colleges in the Wall Street Journal’s 2026 Best Colleges in the U.S., a testament to its dedication to student achievement and educational value.

The Wall Street Journal, collaborating with College Pulse and Statista, ranks colleges by their effectiveness in preparing students for post-graduation life. The evaluation considers three primary factors: Student Outcomes (70%), Learning Environment (20%), and Diversity (10%).

Lehigh achieved an impressive overall score of 82.2, largely due to its outstanding performance in the Student Outcomes category. Noteworthy achievements include:

  • Salary Impact Score: 94
  • Time to Pay Off Net Price: 1 year, 7 months, highlighting a strong return on investment
  • Graduation Rate Impact: Exceeds national averages

In addition to these accomplishments, Lehigh University placed 13th on the WSJ’s Best Salaries list, which assesses the financial impact of colleges on graduates’ earnings relative to attendance costs. The value-added salary for Lehigh graduates stands at $81,485, marking an increase of nearly $8,000 from the previous year.

This year, the rankings included a total of 584 eligible U.S. colleges and universities, with 84 new institutions added to the list.

Lehigh’s sustained acclaim is a result of its forward-thinking academic offerings, robust alumni network, and career-oriented educational approach, which continue to draw high-achieving students eager for both academic and practical learning experiences.
