Flint Initiates Wellness Wednesday Series for Community Health
In a bid to enhance community health, Flint, Michigan is launching a new initiative titled Wellness Wednesday. Starting June 25, 2025, this weekly event will offer residents access to essential health services every Wednesday, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Clio Road Community Service Center located at 4805 Clio Road.
Geared towards promoting easy access to healthcare, Wellness Wednesday will provide Flint residents with free health screenings, valuable wellness resources, and expert advice in a familiar local environment. This initiative is part of Flint’s sustained efforts to improve public health and community welfare.
Residents can expect a variety of free services each week, courtesy of a licensed Nurse Practitioner who will provide:
- Blood pressure checks
- Body Mass Index (BMI) evaluations
- Medication assessments
- General health and medication consultations through “Ask the Provider” sessions
- Screenings for depression and mental health issues
Additionally, a health navigator will be on hand to link residents to crucial resources and services, including the distribution of complimentary water filters.
Mayor Sheldon Neeley emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare, stating, “We understand that access to healthcare and trusted information is a key part of a healthy community. Wellness Wednesday is about meeting people where they are, addressing health disparities, and making sure every resident has the opportunity to take control of their health.”
The City of Flint is urging residents to utilize this weekly initiative to stay informed, empowered, and connected with healthcare services.
