Jill Dale Joins Nevada Test Site Historical Foundation Board

Jill Dale, a senior principal scientist at Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS), has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Nevada Test Site Historical Foundation (NTSHF). Her addition to the board brings a wealth of experience in nuclear testing, national security, and museum operations.

Dale’s selection highlights her dedication to preserving the rich history and legacy of the NNSS. Her deep connection with the Site makes her an ideal candidate for the board, enhancing the collaborative relationship between the NNSS and the National Atomic Testing Museum.

The NTSHF, which manages the Atomic Museum in Las Vegas, focuses on safeguarding and disseminating U.S. nuclear history. As a trustee, Dale is tasked with leading fundraising initiatives, securing corporate sponsorships, and assisting in programming and event planning for new exhibits.

“I’m excited to jump right in. I already got my first sponsorship in the first week and am working on more,” Dale stated.

Philanthropy is not new to Dale. She has served as chairwoman for Women United, an auxiliary of United Way of Southern Nevada, over several terms. Her collaboration with the NTSHF and NNSS cultural resources spans two decades, making this role a seamless transition for her.

For 21 years, the NNSS has partnered with the Atomic Museum to enhance educational outreach and STEM exposure in the community. Through initiatives like STEM Saturdays, the museum hosts free interactive science, technology, engineering, and mathematics events for the local community, led by professionals.

“STEM Saturdays at the Atomic Museum is one of the coolest programs we’re involved in,” commented Dale. “I am such a big advocate of women in STEM. That’s my passion: getting girls involved in science.”

The ongoing collaboration between the NNSS and the Atomic Museum is driven by a mutual commitment to inspire and educate future generations through innovative programs.

In her new capacity, Dale is eager to continue making a significant impact on the Las Vegas community.
