Pennsylvania’s Ambitious Push for Widespread High-Speed Internet
Pennsylvania is on a mission to bridge the digital divide, spearheaded by Governor Shapiro’s strategic initiatives to offer reliable high-speed internet across the state. This transformative effort is particularly focused on rural areas that have long grappled with inadequate connectivity.
The drive to enhance internet access in Pennsylvania has gained momentum thanks to significant funding from the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program. This financial boost aims to provide the backbone necessary for expanding internet infrastructure to underserved communities. “Too many families, farms, and small businesses across rural Pennsylvania have waited years for internet they can count on. This BEAD award helps change that,” said Jordan Drexel, President of Upward.
