UVA’s Student Health and Wellness Ranked No. 2 by Princeton Review

University of Virginia’s Health Services Receives High National Ranking

In a recent accolade, the University of Virginia’s Department of Student Health and Wellness has been celebrated as the second-best in the nation by The Princeton Review. This recognition was highlighted in the company’s newly released “Best Colleges for 2027” guidebook.

The guidebook, which aims to provide comprehensive insights into college life, surveyed 172,000 students across 392 institutions. Participants assessed various aspects of campus life, such as housing, dining, and academic experiences, alongside health services. Although UVA’s health services have been ranked No. 1 for the past three years, they continue to hold a prominent position in this year’s rankings.

According to the UVA Student Affairs’ 2025 annual report, a significant 80% of students acknowledged the importance of health and well-being at the university. The department is committed to providing a broad range of services, including medical care, counseling, psychological support, and disability services. Notably, over 12% of the student body accessed specialized support from the Student Disability Access Center during the 2024-25 academic year. Additionally, the department recorded an impressive 151,000 visits last year, reaffirming its dedication to maintaining high standards of quality, patient safety, and care through its recent reaccreditation.
