Great Start Livingston Honored at 2026 Howell Melon Festival Celebration

The Howell Melon Festival, a longstanding tradition, continues to be a hub for community engagement, bringing together neighbors, families, businesses, and organizations to celebrate the spirit of Howell. This year, Great Start Livingston has additional reasons to rejoice as they receive the honor of being named the 2026 Howell Melon Festival Community Partner, and their Family Liaison, Breanne Green, is recognized as a Melon Court honoree.

These accolades highlight the core belief at Great Start Livingston: strong communities are fostered through connection, collaboration, and the creation of inclusive spaces where everyone feels they belong.

Play. Grow. Belong.

The mission of Howell Recreation is centered around creating an environment where individuals can Play, Grow, and Belong. Annually, the Melon Court Royalty honors individuals whose service and leadership exemplify these values, alongside an organization that embodies them community-wide.

Great Start Livingston’s dedication to building community connections for families with young children aligns naturally with these values. They collaborate with parents, caregivers, schools, and local organizations to ensure children and families thrive.

In Livingston County, with over 11,000 children under five, the roles of families and communities are vital in child development and school readiness.
