Three Innovators Garner 2025 Lipman Family Prize
PHILADELPHIA, March 10, 2025 — The 2025 Barry & Marie Lipman Family Prize has recognized Barbershop Books, BleagLee, and Technovation as its winners this year. Selected from a pool of 150 contenders, these organizations will each receive $150,000 in unrestricted funds, along with executive training and support from the Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania. One of the winners will be awarded an additional $250,000 at an upcoming ceremony.

Recipients of the Lipman Family Prize join a network of global change-makers, gaining access to resources and expertise aimed at enhancing their innovative efforts. The award includes executive education, such as the Lipman Nonprofit Scholarship, and opportunities for peer learning, research, and collaboration.

Barbershop Books is dedicated to encouraging Black boys and other vulnerable children to enjoy reading through culturally relevant and community-focused programs.
BleagLee addresses climate change by implementing innovative waste management solutions in both urban and rural settings.
Technovation empowers young girls by equipping them with technology skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, preparing them to become future leaders and innovators.
About the Lipman Family Prize
Since its inception in 2012, the Lipman Family Prize has celebrated nonprofit organizations that demonstrate leadership, impact, and innovative solutions. Managed by the Wharton School, it aims to connect such organizations with resources to spread their impactful ideas. Notable past recipients include iDE, READ Global, Breakthrough, and Soccer Without Borders, among others.
