Impressive Finish for NNSS at Las Vegas Corporate Challenge
The Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS) demonstrated exceptional athletic prowess by securing third place in the highly competitive Las Vegas Corporate Challenge, a 12-week tournament featuring multiple sports.
In the A Division, NNSS faced off against 16 teams and amassed 153 points, coming in just behind Aristocrat, who scored 200.5 points, and the City of Las Vegas with 175.33 points.
Team NNSS excelled in various events, clinching gold medals in horseshoes and the executive relay. They also achieved silver medals in axe throwing, curling, dodgeball, golf, range shooting, and track and field, along with bronze in basketball, bowling, and table tennis. Additionally, NNSS placed in the top five in 10 other events.
“Our team’s ranking at this year’s Corporate Challenge reflects the same dedication, collaboration and excellence that our workforce brings to our mission every day,” said NNSS coordinator McKenzie K. “Securing a podium finish is a fantastic achievement, but we are even more proud of the sportsmanship and positive spirit our employees displayed throughout the entire 12-week competition.”
Beyond their athletic success, NNSS was also lauded for their team spirit, earning third place in the Director Sportsmanship Award, which honors organizations that exemplify sportsmanship, cooperation, and positive teamwork during the games.
Moreover, McKenzie K. was honored with the individual Person of the Year Award, recognizing those who significantly contribute to the success of the Corporate Challenge through exceptional support and involvement.
