CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Great Basin Gas Transmission Company has received the go-ahead to extend their Carson Lateral pipeline across public lands in Washoe and Lyon counties, according to a Decision issued by the Bureau of Land Management’s Sierra Front Field Office (BLM).
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), an independent body overseeing interstate electricity, gas, and oil transmission, led the analysis under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA). On December 1, 2025, FERC published an environmental assessment (EA) referenced as EAXX-019-20-000-1752151875, accessible through FERC’s eLibrary under docket CP25-209-000.
The BLM, serving as a cooperating agency, actively participated in the NEPA process and agrees with FERC’s assessment that the project poses no significant impact on the human environment. The BLM’s Decision is now subject to a 30-day appeal period.
