Escapee Captured Near Forsyth Correctional Center, Faces Felony Charges
In a swift response by law enforcement, Raymond Warren was apprehended shortly after his escape from Forsyth Correctional Center. The coordinated efforts of the Winston-Salem Police and the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction ensured his capture at a residence on Indiana Avenue, not far from the facility.
Following his capture at around 3 p.m., Warren is now detained at Central Prison. He will be charged with felony escape, adding to his current five-year sentence for two counts of larceny. Originally from Davidson County, the 35-year-old was scheduled for release in 2028. He is described as a white male, standing 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a weight of approximately 160 pounds, and is notable for his numerous tattoos on his neck and face.
The Department of Adult Correction expressed their gratitude to all involved teams and agencies, including the Winston-Salem Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation, for their prompt and effective collaboration. Earlier in the day, state correctional and local law enforcement officers commenced a search for Warren, who managed to escape custody from the Forsyth Correctional Center. The escape prompted an immediate investigation by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
