City of Reno Announces Closures for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
As the nation prepares to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the City of Reno has announced that its administrative offices will not be operational on Monday, January 19, 2026. During this public holiday, city residents should be aware of certain changes regarding available services.
Residents planning to engage in recreational activities should note that all City of Reno recreation facilities and pools will not be open on January 19. However, the Moana Springs Community Aquatics and Fitness Center will operate on a limited schedule, welcoming visitors from 5:30 a.m. to noon. Reno Police Department Service Guidance
The Reno Police Department (RPD) remains committed to serving the community and provides several contact options for different situations. In any emergency that requires immediate police, fire, or medical intervention, the public is urged to call 9-1-1. For non-urgent matters, assistance can be sought by contacting Dispatch at 775-334-COPS (2677). Additionally, individuals have the option to file a report online by visiting RenoPD.com and selecting the “File a Report” option.
