Register Now for Winter and Spring 2026 Swim Lessons in Reno

Swimming is not just a fun activity but an essential life skill, and now is the perfect time to learn. The City of Reno has opened registration for its winter and spring swim lessons, available from January to May 2026. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, classes are available for all ages at the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center and Moana Springs Community Aquatics and Fitness Center.

Swim lessons at these centers are designed to impart crucial aquatic and water safety knowledge through a structured progression tailored to each age group and skill level. Classes are available for individuals as young as six months, ensuring a comfortable and personalized learning experience for everyone.

The City offers the following swim lesson programs:

  • Water Babies: A parent-assisted class aimed at helping infants and toddlers, aged six months to two years, feel comfortable in the water.
  • Tiny Tots: These play-based sessions introduce basic water safety and skills to children aged three to five, with two levels offered to build comfort gradually.
  • Learn to Swim: A six-level program for those aged six and up that starts with fundamental swimming skills and progresses to advanced techniques. The classes maintain an 8:1 student-to-instructor ratio.
  • Adult & Teen Swim: Group lessons available for beginners and intermediates, focusing on basic skills for newcomers and stroke refinement for more experienced swimmers.
  • Private Lessons: Tailored sessions for ages three and up at any skill level. Details can be found in the registration portal.

Costs for these programs vary according to the course duration and schedule. Group classes are affordably priced starting at $33 per session, while private lessons come at different rates. For those needing financial assistance, scholarship opportunities are available. Interested individuals can inquire about eligibility and pricing details by emailing swimlessons@reno.gov.

Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is encouraged to sign up early. To register or to find out more about the specific pricing of each class, please visit the City’s swim lesson registration page.
