Carrie Buck’s Social Media Scrub: Attempt to Rewrite MAGA Ties

Carrie Buck’s Social Media Cleanup: A Political Rebranding?

“Buck has scrubbed social media posts in which she exalted tariffs and the One Big Beautiful Bill”

In a strategic move, Republican State Senator Carrie Buck is revising her digital footprint to distance herself from past endorsements linked to former President Donald Trump’s policies. Despite her efforts to alter public perception, her record remains clear: Buck has been a vocal supporter of Trump’s initiatives, which have been criticized for increasing healthcare costs, limiting Medicaid access, exacerbating unemployment, and negatively impacting Las Vegas’s tourism sector. Although her social media accounts might show a different story now, Buck’s alignment with Trump’s tax and tariff policies, alongside her commitment to the MAGA agenda, is well-documented.

Scrubbing Social Media: A Shift from Trump’s Agenda?

Nevada Current: Buck attempts to erase social media record

Key observations from her recent actions include:

  • Challenging Democrat U.S. Rep. Dina Titus, Buck has attempted to dissociate from Trump’s policies by removing online content praising tariffs and the One Big Beautiful Bill. She has also deleted posts equating women who have abortions to Adolf Hitler.

  • On a previous Fourth of July, Buck celebrated Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill on X, stating, “Today was such an awesome day! The BIG beautiful bill passed….and my boys are all together once again! … Thank you, Lord, for all our blessings.”

  • The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is predicted to strip Medicaid from 70,000 to 100,000 Nevadans. An estimate by the Joint Economic Committee Minority last year indicated that close to 30,000 individuals in Congressional District 1, where Buck seeks to serve, might lose their healthcare coverage.

  • According to Third Way, a think tank advocating moderate policies, hospitals in CD1 could face financial losses nearing $13 million.

  • Buck also removed a post endorsing Trump’s tariffs, which have been associated with consumer price increases and a decline in tourism.

  • In March 2025, Buck remarked on X, “It takes Trump’s policies to bring manufacturing jobs HOME. Made in America, baby! Just pointing out hypocrisy.”

  • Buck’s social media revision comes amid concerns for Republicans about losing the House of Representatives in the upcoming November elections, partly due to the Trump agenda’s influence.
