Fire Activity Prompts Temporary Closure of Tabor Creek Recreation Area
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has announced a temporary closure of the Tabor Creek Recreation Area Campground and BLM Road 1275 due to heightened fire activity from the Forleen Fire, prioritizing the safety of both the public and firefighting crews.
The closure encompasses the stretch starting from the junction of BLM Road 1275 and County Road 753, also known as O’Neil-Deeth Road, extending to include the entire Tabor Creek Recreation Management Area Campground.
Situated 58 miles northeast of Elko, the Tabor Creek Recreation Area is a well-frequented destination featuring 12 campsites and vault toilets. This precautionary measure is aimed at safeguarding visitors as firefighting efforts are aggressively underway in the vicinity.
