Villanova Alumni Association Welcomes Five New Board Members

New Faces Join Villanova University Alumni Association Board

Villanova, Pa. (June 17, 2026)— Five distinguished alumni have been elected to the Villanova University Alumni Association (VUAA) Board of Directors. The new members include Yen Leng Chong ’24 MS, Brian Digan ’80 VSB, Nicole Guerin ’88 FCN, Rachel Horton ’12 CLAS, and Dan Trucil ’08, ’11 MA. Comprising 24 members, the Board is tasked with representing the alumni community and contributing diverse perspectives to further the University’s objectives.

Sheila Doherty, P’23, ’25, Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations, expressed her enthusiasm about the new additions, stating, “Along with our new president, Brian Westbrook ’01 VSB, and vice president, Emily Smith Beining ’12 COE, I am excited to welcome these five new, very accomplished and dedicated alumni to the Board of Directors. The commitment, perspective and expertise that these alumni leaders will bring to our University community is an essential part of advancing Villanova’s Augustinian Catholic mission.”

Founded in 1875, the VUAA is committed to maintaining a lifelong connection with Villanova University. It achieves this by promoting a sense of belonging and offering opportunities that encourage community building, ongoing education, and philanthropy.

Yen Leng Chong, hailing from Malaysia, is a sustainability reporting professional in the energy sector. Graduating with a Master of Science in Sustainable Engineering in 2024, she made significant contributions to Villanova’s Sustainability Plan and was actively involved with the DiLoreto Research Team. She continues to engage with the university as an alumni panelist and is committed to lifelong learning.

Brian Digan headshot

Brian Digan has a 44-year career in talent management and global corporate relocation. An alumnus of Villanova School of Business, he is actively involved in various nonprofit efforts and previously led the Dallas-Fort Worth Villanova University Alumni Chapter. His family maintains strong ties to Villanova, with his daughter Erin also a graduate.

Nicole Blanche Guerin headshot

Nicole Blanche Guerin is the global head of Reinsurance Claims at AXIS Capital and is recognized for her extensive experience in insurance and reinsurance. A dedicated alumna, she has been active on the Fitzpatrick College of Nursing’s Board of Consultors and initiated the Inspiring Careers in Nursing podcast. Her family’s history with Villanova is extensive, with multiple family members being alumni.

Rachel Horton headshot

Rachel Horton brings her expertise in business education and innovation, having developed programs that integrate AI into curricula. A 2012 Villanova graduate, she has held significant roles including working at the Permanent Mission of Japan to the UN. Her entrepreneurial spirit is evident in her latest venture, an upcycled sports fashion brand.

Dan Trucil headshot

Dan Trucil, director of Strategic Communications for AmeriHealth Caritas, has a rich background in health communications, including roles at Sanofi and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He actively participates in the Villanova community and cherishes the lasting friendships formed during his time as a student.
