North Carolina Offers $25,000 Reward in Unsolved Murder Case

In a significant effort to solve a pending murder case, North Carolina Governor Josh Stein has announced a financial incentive to aid in the capture and conviction of those involved in the death of Khari Ikeem Shytez Wilkes, a 28-year-old man.

Governor Stein emphasized the importance of utilizing all available resources to deliver justice. “We must use every tool at our disposal to pursue justice for victims,” said Governor Josh Stein. He encouraged the public to assist by providing any information that could lead to solving the case.

The incident occurred on January 6, 2025, when police responded to a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound on Pine Hill Lane in Kannapolis. The victim, Wilkes, succumbed to his injuries later that evening. At the time of the attack, he was seated in his white 2021 Dodge Challenger, when approached from behind by two unidentified individuals.
