An accomplished professional at the Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS), Mishon Montgomery has embarked on a new chapter by joining the esteemed Leadership Las Vegas program. This initiative is designed to mold emerging leaders who are poised to make significant community contributions.
Montgomery’s interest in Leadership Las Vegas began as she was transitioning from a distinguished 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force to civilian life. A colleague suggested she consider the program to help ease this transition. Initially, it seemed like a distant goal, but further exploration and witnessing a colleague’s graduation ceremony at NNSS in 2023 encouraged her to pursue it earnestly.
The application process for the program is known for its rigor, involving a detailed written application, multiple competitive stages, and an interview. From hundreds of aspirants, only 60 are chosen, and Montgomery successfully secured her place in this selective cohort. Her acceptance was confirmed in September, marking her official entry into the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) Class of 2026.
The program extends over 10 months, with monthly full-day sessions aimed at exploring various aspects of the Las Vegas community. These sessions enable participants to gain insights into regional challenges and opportunities, honing their leadership skills. The latest class had the opportunity to tour the NNSS, learning about its historical significance and current objectives.
Montgomery is particularly looking forward to sessions focused on government, politics, media, and the gaming sector. She is committed to engaging fully with the program, expressing a desire to be involved in every aspect of it. “I will say yes to everything. I want to fully immerse myself in this experience,” she stated, highlighting her enthusiasm for the journey ahead. Her vision for the future is one of growth and impact, as she remarked, “I’m excited for the growth, impact and the legacy we’ll create together. Let’s G.O.A.T!”
