Authorities are actively pursuing Roy Burgess, a 42-year-old inmate who made a daring escape from the Lincoln Correctional Center, a minimum-security facility located in Lincolnton. The escape has prompted a widespread search in the surrounding areas.

Burgess is suspected to be in the vicinity of Dallas or Gastonia, situated in Gaston County, where it is believed he might attempt to connect with acquaintances or family members. At the time of his escape, Burgess was serving a one-to-two-year sentence for larceny. His criminal history includes a series of minor felonies over the past two decades.

The fugitive is described as a white male, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, with brown hair and blue eyes. He sports a beard and weighs approximately 180 pounds. Noteworthy markings include the letters BNG tattooed on his neck, accompanied by additional tattoos on his hands and arms. Burgess might also be suffering from injuries, as he could be bleeding from cuts.
