Exciting Opportunities Await at Red Rock Canyon: Apply for Special Recreation Permits
Adventure seekers and fitness enthusiasts can now apply for exclusive guided activity permits in the stunning surroundings of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is offering Special Recreation Permits for various activities, with the application window open from October 1 to December 31, 2026. Successful applicants will be notified by March 31, 2027.
For detailed information and to learn more about the application procedure, potential applicants are encouraged to consult the 2026 Red Rock Canyon Permit Opportunity Prospectus.
The available permits include:
- Five permits for artistic or fitness-based activities, such as yoga, meditation, running, painting, or photography;
- One permit dedicated to four-wheel driving activities on designated roads;
- One permit for equestrian-related activities along designated trails;
- Three permits for motorized two- or three-wheel vehicles, including scooters, segways, or motorcycles;
- Two permits for guided hiking activities on designated trails;
- One permit for guided biking activities on designated roads and trails.
All applications should be submitted via RAPTOR, the BLM’s online portal for permit applications. It’s important to note that this invitation does not cover other Special Recreation Permits, such as those intended for large events or those under the EXPLORE Act. Once the application period closes, a selection panel will evaluate the proposals, and the top-rated ones will be considered for awards.
