David Flippo Faces Scrutiny Over Financial Disclosure and Campaign Issues

Concerns Arise Over David Flippo’s Campaign Transparency

Transparency in political campaigns is crucial for maintaining voter trust. Recent developments in David Flippo’s campaign have raised questions about his commitment to this principle.

A Northern Nevada Republican has taken action, filing a criminal complaint against congressional candidate David Flippo. The complaint, filed with the Department of Justice, requests an investigation into Flippo’s omission of a personal financial disclosure while lending himself a significant sum of money.

The complaint was filed by Susan Fisher, a lifelong Republican who expressed her concerns on KOLO. Fisher questioned, “there is something that he doesn’t want us to know. He’s not being transparent.” Following this, Flippo’s campaign claimed that an extension for the financial disclosure had been filed, but no records support this assertion.

The Campaign Legal Center also requested an investigation, highlighting Flippo’s self-loan of $1.6 million without the necessary disclosures or an extension request.

Amidst a tight race and widespread media coverage, including on TV, conservative radio, and print, Flippo’s actions are under intense scrutiny as voters demand transparency.

See coverage below:

KOLO: “In our report from early August, we showed who filed such reports with the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives. All CD 2 candidates who qualified filed those reports. One name was missing David Flippo’s.”

KOH-AM Radio: “She wants to know what that [financial disclosure would say] and I don’t blame her.”

Nevada Independent: Voter who “came out of the womb a Republican” requests investigation into Flippo.

Campaign Legal Center: “When candidates fail to file their financial disclosure reports accurately and on time, they deprive voters of crucial information about the financial interests of those who hope to represent them.”
