A Tradition of History and Change Unfolds at the University of Virginia
As the University of Virginia welcomes a new academic year, a cherished tradition comes to life in Charlottesville. Students known as “Lawnies” take up residence in one of the most prestigious addresses—a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This time of year also marks a return to the regular publishing schedule for UVA Today, accompanied by a small yet notable change aimed at enhancing the reader experience.
Starting this Monday, UVA Today will publish its news updates from Monday through Friday. Notably, the UVA Today Weekend edition is being rebranded and shifted to Fridays, now called UVA This Week. This change is designed to help readers catch up on missed stories and events, while preserving weekends for popular activities like football games, concerts, and family gatherings in Charlottesville. Additionally, the Friday edition will occasionally feature in-depth, magazine-style articles that explore different facets of life at UVA.
