As temperatures soar, seeking refuge from the heat becomes a priority for many. Fortunately, Philadelphia residents have a respite in their neighborhood libraries, which will offer not just books and internet access, but also a cool environment during the city’s heat health emergency.

On June 11–12, several libraries will extend their hours until 7:00 p.m. to act as cooling centers. These locations include:
