Maricopa County Approves Conservative $4.1B Budget for FY2027

Budget Approval for Fiscal Year 2027

The Board has given the green light to the budget plan for FY2027, which totals $4.1 billion. The budget is crafted on a foundation of fiscal conservatism, featuring key elements such as:

  • A reduction in the property tax rate for the sixth year running.
  • An operational structure that is $278.4 million below the maximum allowable tax levy.
  • Maintaining a reserve fund sufficient for two months to navigate unexpected economic challenges.

Lake and Trail Safety Event: A Fourth Edition

In anticipation of Memorial Day and the summer season, the fourth annual Lake & Trail Safety Event was conducted. The focus on safety has contributed to a decrease in drowning incidents, although any loss is still too many. Safety reminders include:

  • Children aged 12 and under are required to wear a life vest.
  • Ensure life vests are properly fitted.
  • When hiking solo, inform someone about your plans and expected return time.
