Residents of several Wisconsin counties and the Oneida Nation have been granted access to vital recovery resources following recent disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved multiple counties for its Individual Assistance Program, which aims to support individuals and families in the wake of emergencies.
Counties Approved for Individual Assistance
FEMA’s Individual Assistance Program is now available to residents in Bayfield, Brown, Buffalo, Jackson, Jefferson, Juneau, Kenosha, Manitowoc, Marathon, Milwaukee, Outagamie, Racine, Rock, Sauk, Vernon, Washington, Waukesha, Waupaca, and Winnebago Counties. Additionally, the Oneida Nation is also included in this support effort.
Public Assistance Program Approvals
The Public Assistance program, which helps local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations in their recovery efforts, has also been extended to Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Juneau, Kewaunee, Outagamie, Rock, Vernon, and Waupaca Counties, as well as the Oneida Nation.
In a recent development, Governor Tony Evers announced on July 14 that his request for Public Assistance in the counties of Bayfield, Manitowoc, Marathon, and Racine, along with statewide hazard mitigation funding, was turned down by the Trump Administration.
