Experienced Judge Douglas Green Appointed to Superior Court in Alamance County
In a recent development, Governor Roy Cooper has announced the appointment of Douglas Green as the new Superior Court Judge for Judicial District 17, encompassing Alamance County. This appointment follows the retirement of Judge Tom Lambeth, leaving a vacancy in the district.
Governor Cooper expressed confidence in Green’s capabilities, stating, “Judge Green’s has the experience and knowledge of the district to be a skilled Superior Court Judge.” He further remarked, “I am grateful for his commitment to continue serving the people of Alamance County.”
Douglas Green brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as a District Court Judge in District 17. His career also includes tenure as an Assistant Attorney General with the North Carolina Department of Justice. Furthermore, Green has practiced law with Smith Giles, PLLC, and worked in the Alamance County District Attorney’s Office. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, a Masters in Business Administration from Elon University, and a Juris Doctor from the North Carolina Central University School of Law.
