Megan Berner, Arts & Culture Manager for the City of Reno, emphasized the transformative power of public art: “Public art transforms our community by making art accessible and free for everyone. We’re thrilled to share this draft and hear what our residents love about it and what might be missing. Your feedback will ensure the updated plan reflects the priorities of Reno’s diverse community.”
The feedback collected will be instrumental in shaping the final version of the plan, which will then be presented to the Reno City Council for approval. Additionally, staff will consider making some code changes based on plan recommendations.
The update builds on decades of progress. Since the 1990s, Reno’s public art collection has expanded to 185 pieces, including murals, sculptures, and other elements that highlight diverse styles and media.
