Flint announces holiday closures and adjusted waste collection schedule

FLINT, MI – As the holiday season approaches, the City of Flint is taking steps to ensure residents are informed about changes in city services. Mayor Sheldon Neeley extends warm holiday wishes and expresses gratitude for the community’s support and the hard work of city employees throughout the year. He states, “The holidays are a very special time of year, and I want to thank all City of Flint employees for their service throughout 2024, and Flint residents for their continued support and commitment to our community.”

Mayor Neeley highlights the progress Flint has made and shares a commitment to continue efforts in economic growth and community development into the new year.

Flint City Hall Holiday Schedule

Flint City Hall will close on December 24 and 25 for Christmas and December 31 and January 1 for New Year’s. The Flint Customer Service Center on Clio Road will also observe these closures. However, essential services such as police, fire, water service, and the wastewater plant will remain operational 24/7. Normal business hours at City Hall, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will resume on January 6, 2025.

A red drop box at City Hall remains available for water payments, property taxes, and other official correspondence during these closures.

Adjustments in Waste Collection

Residents should note a one-day delay in waste collection services on December 25 and January 1. For a detailed schedule, please refer to the waste collection map. Regular waste collection will resume during the week of January 6.

Priority Waste will also offer Christmas tree collection for three weeks following the holiday. Trees must be free of ornaments and lights. Waste collection will occur between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and residents should ensure their waste is curbside before 7:00 a.m. on the designated days.
