Villanova University Celebrates Fulbright Success with Multiple Grantees
A testament to Villanova University’s commitment to global education, 12 students and alumni have been awarded the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Grants for the 2026-27 academic year. This achievement, recognized by the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, highlights the university’s continued excellence in producing globally-minded scholars.
The Fulbright Program, known as the U.S. government’s primary international academic exchange initiative, provides grants for study, research, and teaching English abroad. Villanova has long been a top producer of Fulbright scholars, a fact acknowledged by the Chronicle of Higher Education, with over 200 recipients since 2016.
University Provost Patrick G. Maggitti, PhD, commented on the achievement, stating, “As reflected in this year’s Fulbright cohort, Villanova students and alumni continue to distinguish themselves through their intellectual curiosity, commitment to service and willingness to engage the world with humility and purpose.” This year’s recipients include two awardees of the Fulbright English Teaching Flagship Award to Taiwan, further emphasizing Villanova’s global engagement.
Administered by Villanova’s Center for Research and Fellowships (CRF), the Fulbright application process is open to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and alumni. The CRF provides comprehensive support, including project conceptualization, proposal writing, and interview preparation.
