VILLANOVA, Pa. (November 14, 2024)—The Villanova University Alumni Association (VUAA) has bestowed its prestigious 2024 Loyalty Award on Kevin Curley, a distinguished alumnus from the class of 1980 at the Villanova School of Business (VSB). This honor, established in 1932, is the oldest alumni accolade of the university, recognizing individuals for their exceptional service to Villanova. Former award recipients participate in selecting the annual honoree, and Curley will be celebrated for his contributions in a ceremony on November 23, 2024.
Sheila Doherty, Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations, remarked, “It is an honor to present this year’s Loyalty Award to a Villanovan who has served our University community in so many ways.” Curley’s philanthropy and dedicated service, especially towards the Villanova School of Business, reflect the university’s spirit of community service. His Curley Family Foundation has notably supported over 150 organizations in the past quarter-century.
Curley’s enduring connection with Villanova has been evident since his graduation. Bartley Hall’s Exchange was renamed the Kevin M. Curley Family Exchange in appreciation of his contributions towards its renovation. He has held positions such as national president of the VUAA Board of Directors and a member of the VSB Dean’s Advisory Council. During the For the Greater Great: The Villanova Campaign to Ignite Change, Curley’s roles included chairing the VSB Campaign Committee and participating in the Campaign’s President’s Advisory and Executive Committees.
Expressing his gratitude, Curley stated, “I am truly humbled to receive the Villanova Loyalty Award,” and acknowledged the illustrious past recipients who have significantly contributed to the university.
Curley’s involvement with Villanova’s Giving Societies spans the Carr Society, The Caritas Society, the President’s Club, and the Villanova Football Ferrante 500. He received the Reverend Joseph C. Bartley, OSA, Alumni Medallion in 2015 for his distinguished career and service to the VSB. Additionally, he co-chaired the Father George F. Riley, OSA, Fund for Augustinian Health Care in 2021, aiding in the care of elderly and infirm friars.
Throughout his entrepreneurial career, Kevin Curley has founded several enterprises, including Curley Insurance Group, LLC, and Curley Financial Group, LLC. He serves as CEO of Killarney Capital, managing private equity investments in energy, real estate, and technology sectors. Curley’s contributions extend into the Catholic community, where he serves on the Catholic Foundation Advisory Council.
As a philanthropist, Curley has championed numerous causes, including educational initiatives in Ireland and health programs in New York. He has funded 46 college scholarships in Texas and established the Shamrock Shootout Golf Invitational, raising over $1.7 million for charities over 25 years. His key contributions benefit organizations like the Taylor Hooton Foundation and the Housing Crisis Center, where he is a long-standing board member.
Curley also contributes to cultural and philanthropic efforts as a board member of the Irish Repertory Theater in New York City and the Ireland Funds. His contributions have earned him the American Ireland Fund’s Corboy Anam Cara Award and recognition as the 2022 Business Honoree for the Celtic Football Club Foundation.
