BUCKEYE, AZ (October 28, 2024) — The bustling city of Buckeye is now home to Rehrig Pacific’s latest manufacturing facility, a cutting-edge establishment that spans 264,000 square feet. This new plant, which officially opened on October 26, is a milestone in sustainable development for the supply chain and environmental waste industries.
The construction of this state-of-the-art facility was a collaborative effort involving Rehrig Pacific’s team, local and state developers, and the significant support of the City of Buckeye, along with Arizona’s economic partners. Construction began in May 2023 and progressed rapidly, thanks to these joint efforts.
Will Rehrig, CEO of Rehrig Pacific, expressed gratitude for the partnerships that facilitated the project, stating, “We are grateful for the support of our local and state partners.” He highlighted that the Buckeye location was selected to foster a special community relationship, enhancing both the company’s mission and service delivery capabilities.
With an initial provision of approximately 115 full-time jobs, the plant is poised for future expansion, with plans to double its size to 500,000 square feet. The facility’s design prioritizes the safety, comfort, and well-being of its employees, featuring advanced amenities such as fully air-conditioned spaces, smart dock controls, 380 KW solar panels, EV charging stations, and a water reclamation system.
Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, remarked on the facility’s significance, saying, “The grand opening represents an exciting new chapter for Rehrig Pacific in Arizona.” She emphasized the state’s leadership in sustainability and manufacturing growth, particularly in the West Valley.
Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, highlighted the importance of Rehrig Pacific’s operations in supporting the regional circular economy and modern supply chain expansion. “Rehrig Pacific’s operations in Buckeye will drive these fundamentals for a modern, expansive supply chain,” he noted.
Buckeye Mayor Eric Orsborn praised Rehrig Pacific as an exemplary business partner, stating, “Their high-tech facility checks all the boxes for our growing city,” by providing employment opportunities, promoting sustainable products, and stimulating further local development.
