Significant Investment in Mercer County to Boost Local Economy
Mercer County is set to experience an economic boost thanks to a substantial investment of $16.3 million in local manufacturing. Governor Josh Shapiro has facilitated this major investment from CCL Container, aimed at expanding its manufacturing operations and creating 30 new jobs in the region.
CCL Container, a leading manufacturer of aluminum cans and bottles, plans to nearly double its production capabilities at its Hermitage City facility. To support this growth, the Commonwealth is contributing $160,000 to aid the expansion. This financial support underscores the state’s commitment to fostering industry growth and job creation.
Governor Shapiro emphasized the importance of this investment, stating, “Under Governor Josh Shapiro’s leadership, the Commonwealth is investing in the future of manufacturing in Pennsylvania.” This statement highlights the administration’s focus on economic development and job creation as a top priority.
The expansion project will not only improve the manufacturing infrastructure but also enhance employment opportunities in Mercer County. The creation of 30 new jobs is expected to have a positive ripple effect on the local economy, providing additional opportunities for residents and supporting local businesses.
